Announcing our 2024 PlayList project,
PlayList: Duets
PlayList participants write new short scripts inspired by creative prompts linked by a theme. 2024’s PlayList writers drew inspiration from two sources: a duet song and a work of art that evokes duality. Each applicant submitted a song and work of art and then the prompts were “shuffled” among the five selected playwrights. The project culminates in a public reading of the playwright’s work.

Cherise Kimoy is a dedicated, risk-taking artist originally from Miami, FL. She received a BFA in Acting from the UCF, then professionally performed regionally; featured in musicals, plays, original works, readings, TV and film opportunities. After being in rooms with such creative minds, that love for playwriting became a seed that was planted in her. During the Pandemic she started to fully water that seed and birth stories of her own. She is currently studying with NYU Tisch Dramatic Writing Grad program, where she wants to tell stories that have yet to be told—stories that have been silenced for generations.
