OPEN WORKSHOPS
Directing Corps Open Workshop Jenny Kirlin and Jennifer Curfman discuss their approach to staging scenes in a recent Directing Corps Open Workshop.
The Open Workshop Series features presentations of projects at all stages of development – from readings of unfinished scripts to fully rehearsed plays presented in a rehearsal room setting. Each presentation is followed by a discussion of the work between the artists and the audience.

The Open Workshop program provides our theater-going audience with the opportunity to encounter parts of the developmental process they rarely get to see, while providing a critical resource to our actors, writers, and directors in the development of their work.

Special series within the Open Workshops include:

First and Final Draft Open Workshops featuring readings of the first and final drafts of a short play, followed by a discussion with the playwright of how one evolved into the other.

In-Progress Open Workshops featuring readings and discussions of the first acts of unfinished full-length plays.

Directing Corps Open Workshops featuring staged work followed by a discussion of the director's process in preparing and rehearsing the piece.

Monologues and The Actor’s Approach Open Workshops featuring actors working with a director on monologues and a discussion of the actors' approach. Audience members are invited to bring in their own monologues to work in these sessions.
